Let's face it. Even when we love making music, the discipline of practice can be hard! Here are a series of tips, inspired by Amy MacKenzie of ClassicFM radio, to help you keep going and keep growing!
1. Create the best environment. A) Get the right set-up for you and be consistent with your choice, whether it's a quiet location or has a little background noise. This helps establish the right mindset for practicing. B) Make sure you have everything you need close by: water, sharpened pencils, your voice lesson notebook and any songs you're working on. C) Use technology to your advantage: download free apps like a metronome, pitch pipe. Some I use are a virtual piano from gigsmart; soundbrenner metronome; and Voice Recorder.
